Race relations in America were severely challenged by riots and the destruction of property in Ferguson, Missouri (2014) and Baltimore, Maryland (2015). However the response of the survivors to last year’s shooting in Charleston, S.C. offers a hopeful example of the power of forgiveness.
Pastor Clementa C. Pinckney and eight members of Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church were murdered while bowed in prayer during a Bible Study. Immediately after the slaying, survivors of the incident shocked the world by forgiving the shooter. ACLC joined with the Brooklyn Borough President, the Honorable Eric Adams, and the Foundation for a Drug Free World in holding a program entitled, “Effective Drug Education Tools.” This very successful drug education, prevention and treatment program was inspired by the late L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the Church of Scientology.

True Family Values seminar: Blessing of Marriage

Over 50 teachers, preachers, pastors, and community leaders came together to focus on strengthening families through Marriage Blessing, on Feb. 27, 2016, at Imani Temple, the mother church of the African-American Catholic Congregation (AACC) in Suitland, Maryland.
Archbishop George Augustus Stallings, Jr., host pastor and patriarch of AACC, led us in the first session, entitled “Ideal Marriage and Family,” focusing on the Three Great Blessings which God, our Heavenly Parent, gave to Adam and Eve, in the first chapters of Genesis. [Read more…]
