The Windy City of Chicago was honored to host more than 120 participants from the across the country at our 4th Annual ACLC Women In Ministry seminar presenting True Family Values and the Blessing of Marriage. On the strong foundation laid by True Parents, ACLC Women In Ministry has been building bridges, healing wounds and deepening understanding through religious forums studying Biblical principles and their application in today’s world. The ACLC national team was represented by Dr. Michael and Min. Reiko Jenkins, Archbishop George A. Stallings, Jr., Archbishop Sulanch-Lewis Rose, Rev. Marilyn Kotulek, and Dr. Patra Kidwell.
Our program began with praise and worship, then moved into the True Family Values presentations by Rev. Joy Ramza-Woods (“God’s Original Ideal”) and Dr. Patra Kidwell, (“What Went Wrong”). Discussions by table and group reports followed.
Inspiring musical performances were offered by the youth choir of Holy Trinity led by Mr. Wade Brown and solo by Evang. Rita Pritchett. Especially important was the Blessing of Marriage and Family, which was officiated by Dr. Michael Jenkins and Archbishop. George A. Stallings. The Blessing was bestowed upon representative couples, together with the seminar participants, which brought the Holy Spirit to everyone.
By the unanimous request of our Chicago clergy, Rev. Angelika Selle, Women’s Federation for World Peace USA President, was invited to deliver our keynote address. Rev. Selle testified to receiving God’s calling as a young child in Germany. With her fresh and clear words she testified to her experiences as an ordained minister and personal encounters with God and Jesus. She illustrated how the immense task of leading others, as taught by Father and Mother Moon, is a natural role for all of us.
We give special thanks to Pastor T.L. Barrett, Jr., First Lady Cleo Barrett, and Sis. Joan Barrett of Life Center C.O.G.I.C for the use of their church fellowship hall and their excellent hospitality. Many thanks to our Sub-Regional Director, Rev. David Rendel, who guided our planning and vision, encouraging us to set the standard for America. We are also deeply grateful for the support of Rev. Kunihiro Sagisaka, Chicago’s ACLC Coordinator, WFWP Chapter Chairwoman Ms. Kathryn Davis, District Pastor Jeff Schmidt, and many other local leaders such as: Evang. Greta Myers, Rev. Mama Joy Sigur-Ramsa, Min. Fannie Smith, Rev. Etta Ellis, Min. Carrie Tonkumoh and Mrs. Sadako Maeda, for the special quality of true love they conveyed to everyone in attendance. This truly enjoyable program blessed us with renewed commitment towards Heavenly Parent, True Parents, our families and communities.
