“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you”.(Isaiah 60:1-2).
Darkness may be covering our cities and our nation in the way of family breakdown, crime, drug abuse, violence and an array of social problems but we are not powerless.
On Saturday, June 10, the American Clergy Leadership Conference of Los Angeles came together across denominational, racial, and cultural lines in prayer to seek a covering for our young people, for our families and our community and for our nation.
We gathered in the parking lot of South Vermont Ave. Baptist Church and walked in prayer and praise for almost 2 miles to Apostolic Faith Home Assembly seeking the Lord’s blessings and protection for our community.
The walls between us came down as a spiritual transformation occurred and God’s grace and mercy bonded us together in perfect unity. Jesus’ words in John 17:23 resonated in our souls; “That they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them even as You have loved Me.”
The prayer walk was spirit-led and well organized. Kudos to our law enforcement for shadowing us from beginning to end. Everything that transpired during the entire process was very positive and impacting. I believe our culturally diverse yet unified presence stood out in a community in need of unity, peace, and love.

This was a Pentecostal experience! We were gathered together in one accord and “there came a sound from Heaven like a mighty rushing wind”. An anointing fell on us as we journeyed in prayer and we were filled with the power of the Holy Ghost.

The Prayer Walk was fantastic with a lot of prayer warriors who were spirit-filled! We had young prayer warriors that prayed deeply. We were all of one mind and it was a beautiful experience.

With all the prayer and walking, I felt something lift from me. I felt released from things that have been burdening me and putting me down.
