In Mark, Chap. 5 vs. 23, Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, acts on faith and desperately seeks out Jesus; “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.” Commemorating Father’s Day, Rev. Dr. Najuma Smith-Pollard delivered a powerful message entitled “A Father’s Faith Will Heal” at the Los Angeles ACLC Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, June 16th. Rev. Pollard is the Program Manager for the Cecil Murray Center for Community Engagement at USC and she is also Founder and Pastor of the Word of Encouragement Community Church. Recognizing the vital role of fathers in the family, she called the fathers and grandfathers forward for prayer as her message concluded. Then ACLC Co-Chair, Dr. Nicholas Benson invited Rev. George Kazakos of the LA Family Church to explain the deep spiritual significance of the Holy Wine Ceremony and the Blessing of Marriage initiated by Father and Mother Moon. Host pastors of Christian Light MBC, Bishop J.L. Briggs and First Lady Peggy Briggs came forward to officiate a Blessing of Marriage and Family. It was a beautiful event.

Word Empowerment to Serve Ministries
What a powerful gathering it was today; to celebrate fathers for Father’s Day under the ministry of ACLC. As a father, Jarius had position, power, prestige, and access to privileges yet he had to seek out the Savior to gain access to what he did not have; the ability to save his child. I cannot express the fullness of the message as it exposed what you will do when something hits your life so intently that it causes you to repent and step into a position that will allow God to move in your life. God needs us to take a rightful stand for our children and for our families.

The speaker and the fellowship were excellent! It was truly a celebration of marriage and family. I left very inspired and look forward to getting together again.

The message today was something I needed to hear at this moment. A big part of faith is about endurance. Jarius just stood there waiting in faith, in his rightful position before God and his daughter was healed.
