Church elders and pastors gathered on October 20th to launch the Las Vegas chapter of ACLC Women In Ministry (WIM) with a 1-day seminar at International Peace Education Center (IPEC), the 7th WIM seminar of 2018.
Min. Kay Yamaguchi, ACLC Executive Director of Las Vegas, has been doing outreach work for many years and has been deeply inspired to teach the ACLC True Family Values presentation to women ministers and first ladies of churches. Last August, Pastor and First Lady Faye McDonnell of The Wealthy Place Ministries, Church of God in Christ, got inspired to present “God’s Original ideal” at a WIM program in Los Angeles, giving the Biblically based teaching on God’s image in the family. This time she gave “What Went Wrong,” the story of the Fall of Man in the Bible. She presented it with so much conviction and spiritual authority that all the pastors were inspired.
First Lady Jennie Cherry, Co- Founder of Willie R. Cherry Ministries, gave an excellent presentation of “God’s Original Ideal,” which focuses on the three blessings in Genesis 1:28 which are so foundational to the plan of God.
We were very honored that their husbands, Superintendent McDonnell and Rev. Dr. Willie Cherry, both highly respected pastors in Las Vegas, joined the program that their wives led, supporting the program from the beginning to the end.
We asked how Rev. Cherry felt about his wife’s presentation. He said “I was amazed by her.” Rev. McDonnell was also so supportive and deeply respectful of his wife’s anointing.
The keynote speech was given by Rev. T. L. Barrett, Senior Pastor of the Life Center COGIC, Chicago, and afterward we enjoyed songs, music and fellowship with new friends.
Rev. Andy Compton, IPEC Education Director, gave a greeting and introduced the ongoing 7-day workshops. Our wonderful MC was Minister Sonia Wasson, the daughter of Rev. Emanuel Wasson, a long-time Methodist Pastor and ACLC leader.
As a Call to Action, Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) co-directors Mr. and Mrs. Akira Watanabe shared the event they are organizing for the youth, and one student also shared how much his life changed by getting involved with CARP.
The closing prayer offered by Rev. Barrett completed the program and allowed all to receive God’s Blessing for all of us.
Thank you so much Las Vegas ACLC for this beautiful offering.
